I don’t think I have ever been this ready to celebrate Easter. So much of the last 18 months of my life has been questions, longing, waiting, and darkness. When Advent ended this year, I wasn’t ready to leave because my life was still overwhelmed by waiting and anticipation. But now, the liturgical season fits my life (and the weather fits, too!), and I rejoice.
Victorious God who triumphed over the powers of sin and death,
Joy!
Loving God who came to earth to live, die, and rise again,
Alleluia!
Living God who comes to us and says “peace be with you,”
Celebrate!
Compassionate God who sends us out to go and tell others,
Glory!
Creative God who is making all things new,
Anticipate!
